COMMISSIONS
An Invitation to Co-Creation with Artist Barbara Bickel
You are invited into co-creation with an artist committed to nurturing and guiding your process of
self-discovery, through exploring a new concept in commissioned portrait art. Your co-creation will
honour and reflect your physical body as well as your inner spirit. You will decide the amount of
involvement that is important to you as a co-creator. Each part of the creative process is considered
sacred and will be nourished in an open, non-judgmental and supportive way.
|
Committed to creating ‘sacred space’ for making art, she offers herself as a guide and companion on the
collaborative journey. The process will begin with a meeting with the artist. Two forms of co-creations are available.
Each involves a slightly different co-creative process. The final art pieces differ as well. Each
completed art piece is a unique expression of the individual and the artist. People who have co-created
with Barbara have experienced a profound deepening of their self-knowledge and self-esteem.

Co-Creation A
You will begin by preparing for a photo-shoot (the shoot can take place in your home or wherever you desire).
After viewing the photos, and selecting an image for the final drawing, you may choose the art material
(colour of paper, paint, size, etc.) and bring personal elements, ideas, images or actual objects to
influence the piece or be directly collaged into the art piece. You are invited to participate in creating
the ground of your art piece. This can be through staining the wood with paint and/or collaging. The final
art creation is a medium to large mixed media figurative drawing on wood.
Co-Creation B
You will begin by entering a visualization, facilitated by the artist. This visualization is taped and
informs the content of the collaged co-creation. Following this you will prepare for a photo-shoot
(the shoot can take place in your home or wherever you desire). After viewing the photos, and selecting
potential images for the collage, you may choose the art material (colour of paper, paint, size, etc.) and
bring personal elements, ideas, images or actual objects to influence the piece or be directly collaged into
the art piece. The final art creation is a medium to small mixed media figurative collage on wood.
